The Blood of Olympus written by Rick Riordan was a wonderful book, although the ending was a bit disappointing. From book one to the middle part of book five, it was warning so much about the giants rising and the Earth Mother herself. Gaea and her army of monsters do rise, though they get defeated so easily that it makes the process of monsters rising wasted.
Leo, one of the main characters of The Prophecy of Seven, is a Hephaestus kid who later on sacrifices himself. Everyone believes that he is dead although he isn’t. He becomes the first one alive to go to Oggiya twice, a place of Calypso, and keeps his promise to her of freeing her from the island. I hoped to read more about them, but it just ended.
The book was fun overall but only the ending was a bit of a problem. Otherwise, it was fantastic.
I did really enjoy reading the book ‘Coraline‘ written by Neil Gaiman. It is a very dark story for kids and illustrated beautifully and horribly.
I felt horror as I looked at some pictures, but I really wanted to read the book so I managed to read at day time. And I started the book. I read the book and it was no longer scary anymore. I just wanted to see the scary pictures again and again. After I finished the book it was interesting that I finished this dark book.
There are two more Neil Gaiman’s books that I want to read ‘Unfortunately the Milk’ and ‘The Graveyard Book’ .
In the end of the last book, The Mark of Athena, Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase falls into the deep pit of Tartarus right after they got hold of the Athena Parthenon. So the 7 demigods of The Prophecy of Seven divides but meets back eventually. With the Athena Parthenon, they could either make a choice of saving the camps or to continue their quest and go to the House of Hades where they might be able to close the Door of Death, a door that connects to the deepest part of the Underworld. In Tartarus, two new big characters appear, a Titan and a giant with the names of Bob and Damasen. They both are friendly and helps Percy and Annabeth in surviving. I really liked the part about Bob because of his behaviour due to his lost memory. Until now, I think this book was the best book in the series of The Heroes of Olympus.
In the first two books of The Heroes of Olympus series, both had different characters describing their quests and the mysterious relationship among them. Now, in the beginning of this book, it starts with everyone finally meeting together. But the Greek Camp's arrival to the Roman Camp wasn't the best idea. Furthermore, they leave a bad impression on them one of their friends getting possessed. Now, to make things right and to stop the giants and Gea herself from waking up, which was unpredictable and is the worst thing that could happen, the children of Athena has to follow The Mark of Athena, return what was hers, and save at least a bit of the situation. The book was good and I especially liked the ending part where it didn't end in a bye-bye ending, but an ending with a hook.
Percy Jackson is one of my favorite characters in adventurous books. He is a son of Poseidon, the Sea God, or Neptune, in a Roman way. In my opinion, all the books written by Rick Riordan are exciting, thrilling, and is all connected mysteriously somehow. I just simply Iove them. The way the author split up some characters and made sure we understand it was really good. In Percy's perspective, the author always mentioned at least about the Greek Camp, Camp-Half-Blood. I would really recommend this book to everyone.
I really, really enjoyed reading this book with fantastic plots and the linking facts. Recently I have read and loved the Percy Jackson series, so I decided to read more about the Camp-half-blood quests. To my disappointment the characters were different, though it was related to the other books Rick Riordan had written and was quite fun reading about their quest. But in my opinion, the characters of percy Jackson were more attractive. As the ending came closer, the plot reached its climax and some mysteries were revealed including the location of disappeared Percy Jackson. I would reccomend it to all people who loved reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and who are willing to try for exciting adventures.
I recommend this book for book lovers. Beatrice and her friends Jenny, Chloe, and Sam. They all love their Operation Upside certificates that they make for others like the most strick teacher presented to Mrs Tamarack and so on.
My favorite part of the book is when Beatrice give a reward to Mrs Tamarack secretly. But Mrs Tamarack gets angry, she askes who did it, why they did it, and she even make a poster 'WANTED' in order to find it even though it was a complements. I honestly understand it Mrs Tamarack who got angry.
I really enjoyed this book and felt really curious that why isn't she scared up on a tree upside down. I hope you enjoy the books Beatrice Zinker The Upside Down Thinker books!
They just couldn't believe it. Their story friend named Fat Jagger was right in the middle of busy San Francisco roads, accidentally stepping on the innocent people. The police and all other armed forces try to dispose the creature, but another comes to their view. Oh no...
Once again, the three Walker children gets inside the novels written by Denver Kristoff. But this time, they went there on purpose; not only trying to save their story-world-friends, but also San Francisco. They were supposed to find three objects called the Worldkeppers which, were each in different novels. Once all of them were together while passing through the Door of Ways, the only passage between the two worlds, it could undo every damage that were done by the characters. But, the Wind Witch is trying to get hold of them too. The faster they get there, the bigger possibility there is to save the city from more deaths and even maybe, the end of the good world.
I loved this adventurous stories from the first to the end, the plot was amazing and was glad to meet many characters who were described in such a detail that I could actually visualize them in my mind. I hope that Chris Columbus eventually turns this trilogy into a movie, I would love to see his vision for his own book. I recommend Clash of the Worlds to kids and adults.
6 weeks has passed from the end day of adventures in the Kristoff's books. At school all three main characters, Cordelia, Brendan, and Eleanor, get their own problems, not so good. As the Wind Witch appears, they get trapped in stories again although she tries to kill one by one but fails. No one knows why until a diary gets revealed and The Book of Doom and Desire disappears. Inside the books of written by Denver Kristoff the house lands in the middle of the Colosseum where the lions were sent in to check and where soon later, Brendan fights. In the end, the Wind Witch tells the Walker children who she actually is according to the diary but gets truly defeated, not by force or weapons but the children's decision. I felt a bit sorry for the Witch even if she had done a lot of bad things including killing innocent people.
The Walkers move in to the mysterious house of Kristoff, too cheap for the size, and with an old, bald woman warning them. Not long after the adventure begins. As the Wind Witch make the three Walker children to find the cursed book, The Book of Doom and Desire, in her father's novels. They meet a lot of characters, though not all of them are kind. Will Draper, a pilot, the pirates, Fat Jagger, the skeletons, Slayne and his followers, and more. Although they barely escaped in all the life- risking adtventures somehow related to the Wind Witch and the Kristoff House, they don't give up hope and never forget the importance and the love for their siblings
Yay! There is an another fun book from Louis Sacher! This is the story of the thirtieth-floor-class pupils of the Wayside School. There are 28 classmates in the class. Some of them are: Joe, a boy who can't count, Sharie, a girl who only sleeps at school, Bebe who can draw really fast, and many others. Introducing the two teachers, Mrs Gorf and Mrs Jewls! Mrs Gorf is the meanest teacher to can never survive without apples, and as for Mrs Jewls, she is the kindest teacher they had in the thirtieth floor of Wayside School!
I really enjoied this book because it was hilarious and cool.
Wayside School series is another books of Louis Sacher that a lot of kids love. The story takes place in the classroom of the main characters, on the thirtieth story. The teacher, Mrs. Jewles, takes a maternity leave due to her pregnancy. Instead of her many substitute teachers come and go, like Mr. Gorf, Mrs. Drazil, and Mrs. Nogard. However, there is no other teacher in the thirtieth floor of Wayside School who are as kind and knowledgeable teacher other than Mrs. Jewles. I do know that the author wrote the teachers each with different special cases, each worse than before, on the book, but at the same time, I also do know that this would never ever happen in real life. So, that's one of the reasons I really recommend and enjoyed very much while reading the 'Wayside School Gets a Little Stranger' book.
Bradley Chalkers is a bully. He lies, threatens, be rude to teachers, and never has done a homework. That's where Jeff comes in and opens his mind to the bully. However, they soon get apart with Bradley's hateful words. No one likes him now, that is except the new school counselor, Carla. She believes that despite Bradley's bad attitude, there is a part of generosity and honesty somewhere inside him. But it isn't easy for him to change in a sudden. In the end, Carla changes him, though the parents don't agree with the purpose of having a counselor at school, so she gets fired from her job. But I still don't understand the parents's behavior because she would have helped him in a good way. The boy who always got 0 on all of his tests but now got 100% right and improved a lot of things he didn't even knew he could do. In my opinion, 40% was done by the help of Carla. A teacher who had changed not only the behavior of a child, but who also changed his life. Honestly why the author was titled to 'there's a boy in the girls' bathroom'. This book is funny and realistic of school life. I don't like bully people who have seem to have a mental problem. Just hope to meet a good counselor to be affected in a good way.
Lucky is a half-orphan girl whose father doesn't take care of but has a guardian, Brigitte. She was the first wife of Lucky's dad, but agrees and takes care of Lucky in California. But once Lucky gets convinced that her guardian was going to go back to her hometown, France, she makes a plan of running away since she thought if Brigitte realizes what had happened, she would at least stay a bit more. But unlike her name, her luck doesn't follow. That includes the unexpected dust storm, a five-year old kid, and the one-missing shoe. I think it would rather be not-so-easy experience to walk in her shoes, but I can tell she had a very hard time with everything.
My mom bought for me 'Emily Windsnap' series. I loved book covers when I looked through books. I love these pastel colors and mermaid stories.
Emily Windsnap notices that when she becomes a mermaid. She finds out she is a half mermaid. When she met a mermaid Shannon about learned about her daddy at mermaid school. She finally realized the daddy was a mermaid also. She and her mother tried to save her daddy in prison under the sea. It was an adventure journey, loved to read it.
I had read 'HOLES' this winter holidays. It was fun and exciting. This author wrote this short story but was fun too. Stanley Yelnats tells a few things what they cannot do and have to do if you're bitten by a snake and yellow spotted lizard. I have learned about survival guides at te camp. I'd like to go camping. I enjoyed reading and laughed in my mind. It was hilarious.
In the city of Ember, there is no sun. Not only there isn't any sun, there are no sunlight, no sky, and many other things. Even blackouts come out often! Everyone knows fear is apon them and isn't far away. Lina discovers her sister, Poppy, ripping off a paper, full of neatly printed handwritings. Is it the instructions to the way out of Ember?
There is only one way to find out. Lina and Doon goes through many brain-tuggings, and at last, they discover something none of them knew or thought about before. I recommend this book lovers who like adventurous and exciting plots, love it.
It is the second term at Malory Towers. There are three new girls at in the boarding school who are Ellen, Daphne, and Belinda. They each have their own troubles depending on their situations. Ellen, with her only mind to get her parents proud, makes some wrong choices. As for Daphne, a girl who she really believes as her friend is in a trouble that connects with death. Would they both be able to handle their troubles and get away with it?
Finally, Darrell Rivers is going through her last term at Malory Towers. 6 years had passed quick as a blink of an eye. She becomes the Head Girl, but not everyone follows her directions. There is a girl in the Sixth form, Amanda, who can never stop boasting, and Jo, a girl in the same form as Darrell's sister, never knows the differences between right and wrong. They all learn their lessons in the end with the HUGE mistakes they make and farewell!
It's the fifth year in Malory Towers for Darrell Rivers. In the fifth's form, they decided to act out a play with no help. All from the clothes to the scripts. To the result of their discussion, the play fifth formers are going to work on was decided to be Cinderella. But it isn't so easy to do everything by themselves if some other pupils don't agree with them.
Would all the matters be settled down from top to bottom and perform a great play?
