This is an american version of the book, whereas I prefer the UK version as the writer himself is from UK. But apart from that I loved the illustrations as I could picture the story whilst I was reading the book. Fantastic read.

필립풀먼의 His Dark Materials 시리즈는 전세계적으로 팬층이 엄청나게 두텁게 있는 시리즈로 최근에 티비 시리즈로 제작되기도 했지요. 스토리구성이 탄탄하고 내용이 워낙 흥미진진해서 한번 빠지면 끝을 낼 수밖에 없는 시리즈이기도 해요. 정말 재미있어서 끝에 어떻게 되는지 너무 궁금해서 자발적으로 막 읽게 되는 그런 류이지요. 일러스트판은 그 흥미진진한 이야기를 더 생생하고 생동감있게 읽을 수 있어서 더 좋은 것 같아요.
